Chain of Challenges, episode 11.
Imagine that Pixel Joint has a mobile app, and it was completely redesigned for it. Now and draw how it would look. The new design will need a new logo and of course a new PJ Nerd, but you can design any layout elements you wish from the main menu bar to a search block. You don't need to draw a whole example page, with news feed, weekly challenge countdown, and monthly top ten thumbnails, if you don't have time this week. The main logo bar is the absolute minimum.
The following pixel artists produced Pixel Joint's top rated pixel art for March 2024.
Many thanks go out to this month's top pixel artists, and all the members who took time to rate!

Chain of Challenges, episode 10.
No more hairs, but we are keeping the game item idea and adding the UI.
Design an UI for a pixel art game inventory. It has to be divided into two parts. They do not have to be even halves. You are free to come up with a creative way to pack it all on one screen, but going for one on the left and the other on the right will be great too.
1) Inventory as a backpack, suitcase, cart, cargo crate, car trunk, magical luggage, etc. with slots for items that the character of your game will carry with them. You can add different item category tabs or divide the whole thing into areas intended to store specific items like potions, armour, quest items, rings, guns, swords, etc.
2) Equipment sheet with the character silhuette and item slots in the correct places. You decide how many item slots the character will have, but it should have at least five slots. It should be things like headwear, armour, the right hand, the left hand, shoes, amulet, belt. You can have only one slot for armour, or you can divide it into parts like chestpiece, greaves, pauldrons, gauntlets, and so on.
No items this time, just spaces for them, but you are allowed to draw a silhouette of a category, like a helmet shape for the head.
You are allowed to choose from three different resolutions: 640x360, 320x180 and 160x90.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
This challenge will include a lot of continuations. We are continuing the chain of challenges, as it is also based on the idea by Umbohr, and it is also about the hair. But we are also continuing the joking nature of the April Fools challenge by building the challenge on a joke from Secret Santa's likes and dislikes list. Particularly the Space-Age Wrangler's likes list, which included "a lock of Gawrone's hair".
Draw a sprite of a lock of hair as a game item. It may be a talisman, a potion ingredient, or a quest "key" item. It can be tied with a beautiful ribbon, braided, kept on a base or under a glass dome, petrified in a magical crystal, or just treated as a piece of trash that shopkeepers will buy for 0 gold.
But challenges must be challenging, so you have to use the gawr8 palette. You can add a subtle animation of a bounce or shine, but it is not a requirement.

The epic pixel chronicle Tapacron has turned three months old! Currently, 261 people have participated in it. Link to the april time-lapse video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l74JKwEIdhE
RECENT UPDATES: An eyedropper tool has been added. You can pick the desired color by long-pressing on the chosen pixel on the canvas, and the palette will scroll to it.
Brief recap: Tapacron is a pixel chronicle where everyone can participate. The canvas expands by one pixel every day starting from January 1, 2024. To draw, zoom in on the canvas using the mouse wheel or a gesture: https://tapacron.com
