CRYENGINE Game of the Year 2021 awards!

Win Crytek merch by voting for your favorite CRYENGINE game released in 2021.

Today we're launching our CRYENGINE Game of the Year 2021 awards, and we need your vote to decide the winner! We're proud of the wide range of developers and licensees who choose CRYENGINE to create unique, exciting, and ambitious experiences with our engine. 2021 was another excellent year for CRYENGINE-powered games, and it was no easy task to select a shortlist from qualifying titles released during the 2021 calendar year. But after much deliberation, our team has chosen the nominees, and now we need your votes to decide who will take home the coveted award. And by participating in the vote, you can win some Crytek merch too!

Take part by checking out the nominees below, and then head to the forum to vote for the game you think should win. Leave a comment explaining why you have chosen your favorite, and you will be in with a chance of winning merch from the Crytek store

If you haven't played all the games on our shortlist yet, you can learn more about each of our nominees during dedicated episodes of devcom's Vertical Slice show, hosted by Astrid Gooding and streamed on their Twitch channel over the next three weeks. Each week a different nominee will be showcased and discussed with special guests, including developers and members of your CRYENGINE Team. And the day after each Vertical Slice show, our very own Roman Perezogin, CRYENGINE Junior Evangelist, will be playing each game on our official Twitch channel too. There will be game key giveaways during all these streams, so don't forget to subscribe and tune in.

Voting closes on January 31, and the winning game will be announced on February 3. Our dedicated campaign page hosts further information about each game while those all-important terms and conditions can be found in the forum post

So, without further ado, here are the nominees:

The Alien Cube

The Alien Cube is a Lovecraftian "cosmic first-person horror adventure" from solo developer Alessandro Guzzo. Worlds collide when your uncle disappears, and you must confront terrible truths and nightmarish visions in this tense and terrifying indie horror game.

The Alien Cube will be showcased on Vertical Slice on January 13 (4pm GMT +1) and streamed on CRYENGINE's Twitch channel on January 14.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2

From CI Games, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a modern warfare shooter set in the  Middle East. Play as Raven, Contract Sniper Assassin, as you take out a series of targets across a dramatic single-player campaign. With extreme-range shots exceeding 1000m, gear up for the most challenging entry to the series yet.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 features on Vertical Slice on January 20 (4pm GMT +1) and will be streamed on CRYENGINE's Twitch channel on January 21.

Uninvited Guest

Another solo developed title, Uninvited Guest, is a first-person psychological horror game set in 1930. Become immersed in a chilling adventure with stunning graphics and a horrifying soundscape. Packed with freakish scares throughout, you never know what's around the next corner on this indie white-knuckle ride.

Uninvited Guest will star on Vertical Slice on January 27 (4pm GMT +1) and will stream on CRYENGINE's Twitch channel on January 28.
