YoYo Games are excited to host a GameMaker game jam to celebrate 20 years of GameMaker! Submit a game & the project files created between Nov 14th - Nov 21st.
The theme of the jam is the number 20, meaning the challenge could be to create something in 20 hours, or with 20 lines of code, or at a resolution of 20x20px. The GameMaker 20th Game Jam is open to anyone and you are welcome to make a team. The YoYo Games office will even be taking part! GameMaker Studio 2 will also be available for free during the jam, so anyone can get involved, regardless of whether or not you already own a licence.

Making a game is what counts, so if the theme doesn't work for you then feel free to create anything you like. The main rule here is it has to be created using GameMaker. To this end, we'll need entrants to share their project files in their submissions so that they can be verified as GameMaker projects. Marketplace assets are allowed but if you want to protect the asset you can make the submission of the project private.
To reiterate, the rules are:
- Games must be made with GameMaker.
- Games must include their project files for verification.
- Teams are allowed.
Voting is open on the page for everyone to vote but judging will also be done internally and the winners will receive prizes (like a choice of GameMaker Studio 2 Developer licence) from YoYo Games!
Prizes will be given out based on the following categories:
- Best game!
- Best use of 20 theme!
- Best use of GameMaker!
