Is there a chance that EA wants to shut down this project because of the description that says that it's a game instead of a mod for BFME2?
And if necessary confirm this?

As cool as this looks, wouldn't a different engine and medium better for your idea?
BfMeII isn't sold anymore, afaIk, so the player base is slim, also you people who have the game might not be into ME.
If you would use Alien Swarm/Scource Engine or Unity and you could still go easy and for free, with inbuild Iso modes for the AS way.

Also, we have a lot of knowledges about SAGE, so this project have more chances to be finished ;)
You could have tried C&C3; and/or RA3 and they have Mod SDKs using the xml format instead of the ini format.
